One of
the abrasive water jet's biggest advantages is its' inherent
cold cutting quality. Materials can be cut that would normally
be burned, melted, surface hardened, or warped. Materials
cut with abrasive water jet undergo no thermal stress.
·
Cuts virtually any material. Abrasive water jets can cut a
wide range of thickness and materials, including metals, plastics,
glass, and ceramics.
·
No secondary processing required in many applications .
·
Does not work harden material - stress-free cutting.
·
Materials cut by the abrasive water jet have a smooth, satin-like
finish, similar to a fine sandblasted finish
·
It can also cut hardened metals and materials with low melting
points.
·
And finally, it can cut reflective materials and fibre-reinforced
materials. Part deformation is avoided and high cutting accuracy
is achieved without leaving any frayed edges or burns.
